Adventures for Christ Summer Outdoor Camp

By  |  0 Comments

“Adventures For Christ is a summer outdoor camp where participants will learn fun and practical ways to enjoy the natural environment while being challenged to grow deeper in their faith and become servant leaders in their communities.”
We’re excited to partner with Adventures for Christ and share information about this fun outdoor camp with you!

Adventures for Christ Outdoor Camp

Adventures for Christ is a fun, active, outdoor camp for kids ages 9-11 and 12-14.

Meadow Glen Middle School Outdoor Education teacher Phillip Thomas created Adventures in Christ as a way for kids to learn to enjoy the outdoors and have the chance to experience fun adventures such as trying rock climbing, kayaking or learning wilderness survival. Through these activities and more, kids learn leadership skills, teamwork and effective communication and will help them grow personally as well as in their relationships with Christ.

I love the story of how Adventures in Christ came to be.
“As a public school Outdoor Education teacher, founder, Phillip Thomas, found that it is often difficult to share the gospel with students. While he strives daily to share Jesus’ love through his actions, he wanted to find a tangible way to talk about Christ while still teaching his passion for the outdoors. In the Spring of 2015, Phillip asked God how he could use his talents and resources for His glory during his summer breaks; it was from this prayer that Adventures For Christ was born.”

Camp Information

Each week of AFC camp lasts Monday thru Thursday from 8:30-12:30. All camps include a low ropes challenge course, archery, and rock climbing; while select camps will include wilderness survival or kayaking. The drop off and pick up location is at MGMS, except on kayaking days for select camps. On kayak day, it’s at Canoeing for Kids. A healthy snack is provided during the morning adventures. Activities will be moved inside in the event of severe weather. If it’s just rain, camp continues outdoors. The cost per camp week is $150.
