THE HOME DEPOT PARTNERSHIP KICKS OFF L.P.D. “FREE FAN PROGRAM”

Lexington, S.C. (April 13, 2017) – With the warmest months of the year fast approaching, the Lexington Police Department is already looking forward to donations of box fans from Town of Lexington residents and businesses in order to continue this successful community program.

This week Chief Terrence Green, along with officers of the Community Action Team (C.A.T.), met with Store Manager Kimberly Waltz of The Home Depot in Lexington to receive fifteen box fans to kick off donations for the Lexington Police Department “Free Fan Program”.

Through the month of May, for those interested in making a donation to the Lexington Police Department “Free Fan Program”, can purchase fans at The Home Depot in Lexington for a reduced price of $12.96 for the 20” box fan that they stock. To make a purchase through this program, please ask for a manager at checkout. This reduced price is good through May 31, 2017 or until the stock of fans at The Home Depot is gone.

Chief Terrence Green said, “Each summer the Lexington Police Department is able to bring relief from the heat for Town of Lexington residents in need through our “Free Fan Program” and partnerships, like this one with The Home Depot, are essential for keeping community programs like this ongoing and a success. The support for this program with donations of box fans is greatly appreciated and always needed.”

The Lexington Police Department is accepting donations of box style fans and all donated fans must be new and in original packaging. In-kind donation forms are available for donations to this program through the Lexington Police Department Adopt-A-Cop fund. The in-kind donation form includes a tax identification number for tax deduction purposes.

Those who are already in need of a box fan can come to the Lexington Police Department for assistance. Fans can be picked up at the Lexington Police Department during business hours at 111 Maiden Lane in Lexington. Community Action Team (C.A.T.) members are available to assist citizens who need a fan dropped off at their residence. An acceptance and release of liability form is completed for all fans that are given away through this program.
