Free Fridays at Riverbanks Zoo & Botanical Gardens is back!

Residents of Richland and Lexington counties will receive free admission to the park every Friday during the months of January and February. Guests will be asked to provide a valid driver’s license, property tax statement or vehicle registration as proof of residency.

Why only Richland and Lexington County residents?

Riverbanks is a special purpose district and relies on funding collected from property taxes in Richland and Lexington Counties to supplement its operating budget. The Zoo began the Free Fridays program as a show of appreciation for the continued support provided by the residents of those counties.

Riverbanks is open 7 days a week from 9am-5pm. Make sure to check out the different feeding times and demonstrations. They are fun and great learning experiences! You can find specific information and times on the Riverbanks website or at the front gate or guest services. And don’t forget to spend some time across the river at the Botanical Gardens. It’s home to the 3 acre children’s garden, Waterfall Junction, and 70 acres of themed gardens and thousands of species native and exotic plants.
