Lexington Pediatrics Accepting New Patients

Mom Needs Help! – Pediatricians

By  |  10 Comments

momneedshelpwhiteEvery day, we receive reader submitted questions of people looking for advice or recommendations from the Lexington Mommy staff and the Lexington Mommy readers. In the past, we have posted the questions on Facebook. While it is a great avenue to get a ton of input, pretty much immediately, the logistics of (the ever changing) Facebook make it near impossible to go back and look for previous posts. Also, there is no way for us or our readers to search for specific posts to find them for a reference. Last week, we asked you if you would prefer to transfer to a poll/vote system or a comment system. You told us (and I agree) that comments are more valuable as they often add WHY someone recommends a person, business or service.

So over the next few days and weeks, we will post the most frequently asked questions. We will also ask questions as they come in. Some questions will still be posted on our Facebook page based on the nature of the question and the discretion of our staff. We will try to post the questions still asked on Facebook on the website, along with the answers submitted. Moving forward, you will be able to come to LexingtonMommy.com and search for even more posts containing information you may be looking for! How cool is that?!

The absolute key to this is YOU stopping by, taking a minute out of your day and posting YOUR recommendations. YOU are helping our community create an even larger resource of information for our readers. And we can’t thank you enough for it!

Today’s question – Who do you recommend for a Pediatrician and why? Comment with your input!

Among the Lexington Mommy staff and based on this topic in the past, we recommend Lake Murray Pediatrics and Lexington Pediatrics. But our number one advice is to make an appointment and meet the doctor first!

Dr Delaney at Lake Murray Pediatrics gets my vote. Dr Guyton is awesome, too, as is the entire office staff! You can’t go wrong with LMP!

Dr. Whitaker @ Sandhills Peds in Irmo. We love Dr. Whitaker @ Sandhills Peds! He is amazing! He even said a prayer on our first visit with our daughter when she was a NB (she’s now 15 months). He’s very thorough, supportive & helpful. You can tell that he REALLY cares about his patients/little people and us parents too 😉

We have been very pleased with Lexington Pediatrics, especially Dr. Wheeler. We have seen Dr. Webber and “Mrs. Ann,” the nurse practitioner as well. The waiting time is usually very short. They get you in promptly for an appointment. Dr. Wheeler really trusts me as a parent and listens to my concerns and takes them into serious consideration. He is very smart and is passionate about what he does. As are Dr. Webber and Ann.

We’ve been seeing Bruce Cope with Sandhills for over five years. A friend of mine (a nurse) used to work with him and recommended him when I was pregnant with my son. She said, “You’ll love his personality, and he is GREAT with boys.” The next year, when my daughter was born, I learned that he is also great with girls. With my son, there are always high-fives and chats about “building projects,” and with my girl, he is slow, patient, and gentle. He has a son and a daughter himself, and he never hesitates to answer when I ask his opinion about what he would do as a father. We have also seen Dr. Todd and Dr. Taylor briefly–really liked both. There’s one nurse there that we’ve seen two or three times while out shopping–she goes out of her way to say hello and remembers my children! Also, I like that they have a separate waiting room for sick patients (wish my doctor’s office had that)!

We LOVE Dr. Carter at South Lake. The office is not busy and she takes the time to really know her patients and spend time with them. My son has some digestive issues and she even took the time to sit and observe him drinking his bottle so that she could see first hand. My kids LOVE her.

Dr. Whitaker at Sandhills (Broad River location). I swear he hung the moon! He really cares about us parents as much as he does the little ones, too. I drive through Lexington to Ballentine to take my 2 boys to him. 803.407.0704

My toddler has seen Dr. Trey (Joe B.) Castles at Pediatric Associates since he was born. We love Dr. Trey! Baby #2 (due in May 2016) will also see him.
