Mom Needs Help! – Preschools, Daycares & Mom’s Morning Out

By  |  9 Comments

momneedshelpwhiteEvery day, we receive reader submitted questions of people looking for advice or recommendations from the Lexington Mommy staff and the Lexington Mommy readers. In the past, we have posted the questions on Facebook. While it is a great avenue to get a ton of input, pretty much immediately, the logistics of (the ever changing) Facebook make it near impossible to go back and look for previous posts. Also, there is no way for us or our readers to search for specific posts to find them for a reference. Last week, we asked you if you would prefer to transfer to a poll/vote system or a comment system. You told us (and I agree) that comments are more valuable as they often add WHY someone recommends a person, business or service.

So over the next few days and weeks, we will post the most frequently asked questions. We will also ask questions as they come in. Some questions will still be posted on our Facebook page based on the nature of the question and the discretion of our staff. We will try to post the questions still asked on Facebook on the website, along with the answers submitted. Moving forward, you will be able to come to LexingtonMommy.com and search for even more posts containing information you may be looking for! How cool is that?!

The absolute key to this is YOU stopping by, taking a minute out of your day and posting YOUR recommendations. YOU are helping our community create an even larger resource of information for our readers. And we can’t thank you enough for it!

Today’s question – What preschools, daycares and Mom’s Morning Out programs do YOU love and why? If you know what ages the program is for or any other tidbits, please include it. Comment with your input!

My kids have attended both Harvest daycare and Northside Christian West Early Ed Daycare (on Kittiwake) and both have been excellent! I have been particularly pleased with the Bible lessons at NCA. My son has learned so much in the past school year there. The Harvest has a lot more activities like water days, VBS, and field trips though.

My children attend First Baptist Church Lexington Preschool (Barr Road). Not only have they developed in countless ways and developed relationships/friendships, but the other parents/teachers that I have met there have been amazing, enabling me to developing my own friendships. They offer weekday preschool (with events throughout the year), summer camps, family VBS, etc. They even had a Stay at Home Moms Bible study that I was able to attend in the mornings while my children were downstairs in school!

Beulah Methodist Preschool is a great preschool. The teachers are certified teachers with Bachelors degrees so they know exactly how to prepare children for school. Beulah offers a safe, christian environment. They also have the best technology! My four year old is already learning on smart boards at this school. I do not know any other preschool around that has a smart board in the classrooms. They also offer a Mother’s Morning Out every Friday for $8 a child that is from 9 a.m. to 12 P.m. It is a great time frame for me to go get a pedicure, get my hair done, clean my house or just take a nap! It is not a registered program on Friday’s, so I can wake up Friday morning and decide on if I want to take them or not.

Beulah Methodist preschool. Hands down. I love how the teachers feel like family. They treat my child like their own. He has learned to pray along with his basic abc and counting. Write. His name just to name a few .. I am so glad I placed him in such a wonderful school

Two years ago, I sent my children to Beulah Methodist Preschool because of its convenient location to my home, but now I’d drive across town to bring them. The teachers and staff do a wonderful job, and the whole school really feels like a family. My son went through the four-year-old class at Beulah and then last year was in public kindergarten. His teachers were impressed with his reading skills already in place from preschool. He’s already reading on a second grade level before he goes into 1st grade. This past year, my two-year-old learned to say the Lord’s Prayer, which just melts my heart. I love that they are building a solid foundation of faith, community, and academic skills! You have to check it out!

A few of the preschools offer kindergarten. The only one that immediately comes to mind is Lake Murray Baptist. But I think there are a few others.
