kidsdaylogoThink sunny thoughts! Kid’s Day of Lexington is this Saturday, April 25th, rain or shine! Or as I’ve decided to put it, “We will be there, sandals or rain boots!”

kidsdayarielThis will be the 15th year Palmetto Chiropractic Center has hosted Kid’s Day of Lexington. Kid’s Day is free and open to the public and is intended to educate families on health, safety and environmental issues. Games, activities, goodies, food, drinks, all free for families. Last year, more than 20,000 people attended.

100 percent of all proceeds raised by Kid’s Day of Lexington will benefit the Nancy K. Perry Children’s Shelter and Dickerson Center for Children.

“Our community needed a family event and we wanted to make it a day of learning mixed with fun,” said Dr. Jason Yoder of Palmetto Chiropractic Center. “Kid’s Day has grown each year into a wonderful event for families to spend time together while learning and playing without emptying their wallets.”

Lexington Mommy is proud to be one of the many sponsors of Kid’s Day of Lexington again this year. Dr. Jud Heldreth and Dr. Jason Yoder of Palmetto Chiropractic Center and many volunteers do an amazing job of bringing over a hundred different businesses together to spend the day serving and educating the community. From a business owner perspective, spending the day with the community, meeting new people, seeing old friends is a highlight of my year. From a mom perspective, Kid’s Day is outstanding fun for the whole family! The kids count down to it like a holiday.

“We’ve been honored to host Kid’s Day of Lexington for so many years,” said Dr. Jud Heldreth of Palmetto Chiropractic Center. “We always have an amazing turnout and this year, we’re excited to offer more giveaways, food, entertainment, and of course safety info for families, than ever before. It’s always a fun spring day in Lexington at Virginia Hylton Park.”

Come join us at Kid’s Day of Lexington this Saturday for a day of fun! But it may rain? And it may not. We’re still thinking sunny thoughts! And even if it does rain a little, here are some silver linings –
1 – It’ll make for a great story.
2 – How often do your kids really get to wear that cute rain coat and those boots they love out in public for more than two minutes?
3 – I bet the lines will move quickly.
4 – They will think you are the coolest for letting them jump in puddles.
5 – When’s the last time YOU got to play in the rain?
6 – It won’t be 90 degrees out.
7 – Happy, damp kids playing outside > bored, cranky kids swinging from the ceiling fan inside
8 – They will probably nap REALLY well when you get home, even the big kids.
9 – It’s a fun day for a wonderful cause!

So whether we are in sandals or rain boots, we will be there! We’d love to see you too! Stop by our booth and say HI!

PS – I predict the rain holds off until 2. The last few times I’ve checked, the forecast pushes back the ETA for the rain a little more each time.
