Keep the learning up all summer long! With all the fun stuff to do outside and all the ‘free time’, it can be difficult to get your child to sit down and read. Several programs are available to help get your child’s nose in a book. These fun and free Summer reading programs reward your child for reading!

LCPL Summer Reading Program

Dig into summer reading — discover that books build better readers and give you the tools to change the world. Challenge yourself to try new things and work together to make a positive change in the community.

Children and teens can level up to score some tasty treats from Chipotle, Bojangles’ and Chick-fil-a, as well as, a book, Summer Reading medal and ticket to a Lexington County Blowfish Baseball game. Tracking time is easy and online. For children and teens who completed a level, stop by the library and snag your prize.

Summer Reading isn’t just for kids. Adult participants are entered to win weekly prizes at their local branch.

As you make plans, don’t forget to stop by the library each week for exciting activities for all ages. Our programs are designed to help grow your mind and body from author talks to nutritional workshops and yoga. For a complete list of events, visit www.lex.lib.sc.us/events.
