“Little Free Library” created at Virginia Hylton Park

My personal two cents: I LOVE THIS!! A “Little Free Library” for one of Lexington’s awesome parks!

From Town of Lexington:

Town of Lexington’s Virginia Hylton Park Receives “Little Free Library”

The Town of Lexington is proud to be a recipient of a “Little Free Library” as part of Lexington High School Student Erin Beadenbaugh’s community service project.

“My goal for this project is to promote literacy, encourage reading among those of all ages and demographics and instill a love of reading. I especially hope that the project will put books in the hands of children who might not have the opportunity to visit our local county library, and live by the motto ‘take a book, leave a book’,” says Beadenbaugh.

“We are so proud Erin selected Virginia Hylton Park as a Little Free Library location. She is a great steward to the community, providing an engaging outlet for readers to have access to books and promoting a healthy quality of life by encouraging readers to stay outside and take in fresh air,” says Mayor Steve MacDougall.

Erin is a rising senior at Lexington High School, serves as Band Drum Major (clarinet) and is a member of Model United Nations.
