I spent last week in Florida at my parent’s house and decided I wanted to make them dinner one night while I was there. I came across this great recipe, changed some of the ingredients to make it my own and it turned out GREAT ! So, I wanted to share it with you all! Hope you like it!

-Spicy BBQ Sausage and Veggie Skewers-
What You Will Need
Place sausage in BBQ sauce. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour.
– Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil grate.
– Alternately thread pepper, sausage and onion onto skewers. Cook on the prepared grill until sausage is evenly brown and vegetables are tender.
Ingredients– 1/2 cup BBQ sauce, 5 sausage links, red onion, green pepper and red pepper
Step 1– Slice sausage links into pieces.
Step 2– Marinate sausage pieces in BBQ sauce for 1 hour.

Step 4– Cut each long pieces in half to make cubes. (Repeat Step 3 & 4 with red pepper.)

Step 5– Cut ends off onion and peel off skin. Cut in half.

Step 6– Cut each half in two long pieces and divide into thirds. Keep two layers together out of each third to be put on skewers.

Step 6– I prepared my veggies while the sausage was marinating and put off to the side until meat was done marinating.
Step 7– Put veggies and sausage on skewers. I started and ended each skewer with the pepper to create a barrier so the sausage would not slip off. Alternate between veggies and meat. Make sure to keep enough room on each end so you can grab the ends while flipping on the grill.

Step 8– Place skewers on grill to cook. Make sure when you flip skewers to use tongs (ends get hot!) and to be careful because sausage might stick a little. Mine took about 10 minutes on each side. Add more time to make crisper.

Step 9– Voila! Finished product. Delicious and devoured within minutes. Great served over rice!! Overall an easy process and will definitely be a new reoccurring dish over the summer! Enjoy!
