Corley St Park, Lexington, SC

Corley Street Park

Corley Street Park has a neat splash/spray pad in addition to a playground, swings and covered picnic areas. Added bonus is it’s a pretty shady park. The spray pool is open 11 a.m. Until 8 p.m. Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. (It’s been one of my favorites since I was a little girl!)

Dreher Island State Park

Dreher Island State Park spans three islands, 348 acres and provides access to 12 miles of Lake Murray shoreline. Visitors will find recreational water activities, nature trails and some of the best striped and large-mouth bass fishing spots, all only 30 miles from Columbia.  It has long been a popular location and launching spot for major, national fishing tournaments.

The park is open Monday - Sunday from dawn to dusk. The office is open 8am-5pm (8am-8pm during peak season). Admission is $2 adults; $1.25 SC seniors; age 15 & younger free

Felton C. Benton Splash Pool & Park

"What better way to spend a hot summer day in South Carolina than with water and a few friends? At the Felton C. Benton Park, children can spend the dog days of summer staying cool in the always popular splash pool. “At the corner of Platt Springs and Lee is where you’ll find me!” has been a popular saying amongst the children of Springdale for nearly three decades. This park has been providing quality recreation for all the children of Springdale since soon after the incorporation of the town in 1955."

Facilities include picnic tables, shelters, public restrooms, pets not allowed.The South end offers swimming and the North end offers a fishing pier.

The cost is $3 per car, $5 per passenger can or $45 for a Season Pass.

Summer hours are Monday – Friday: 11:00am-7:00pm, Saturday – Sunday: 10:00am-8:00pm

Melvin Park Splash

Melvin Park Splash will open for the season on Saturday, April 27, 2019!

Melvin Park Splash, located in at Melvin Park in Chapin, is a zero-depth water spray grounds for children. Hours of operation are from 9:00 am until 8:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Sunday.

Wristbands are $3 per person or you can purchase a 15-visit Splash Pass for $40. The Splash Pass is valid at both Saluda Splash and Melvin Park Splash in Chapin.

Northwest YMCA Pool

The Northwest YMCA on Kennerly Rd in the Irmo/Ballentine area offers an indoor pool and outdoor splash pad. Family memberships are only $76 and gives you access to these features and more, like the indoor playground and discounts on youth athletics and lessons.



Fort Jackson

I HIGHLY recommend spending some time on the website to find out exactly what you need to do, where to go, etc. Given that Palmetto Falls Water Park is on Fort Jackson, they have some pretty particular rules. It’s not super difficult. But it’s best to go prepared.

Saluda Splash @ Saluda Shoals Park

Saluda Splash will open for the season on Saturday, April 27, 2019!

Saluda Splash is a zero-depth water spray ground for children.  Hours of operation are from 9:00 am until 8:00 p.m. daily Monday through Sunday.

Wristbands are $3 per person or you can purchase a 15-visit Splash Pass for $40.  The Splash Pass is valid at both Saluda Splash and Melvin Park Splash in Chapin.  A $5 daily parking fee applies at Saluda Shoals Park.

Waterfall Junction is open year-round during park hours.

Flora, fauna and fun intersect at Waterfall Junction where big kids and little sprouts can explore nature throughout the year or retreat to a cool escape during warmer months. Frolic around and under a 25-foot cascading waterfall and splash zones, unearth a life-size replica of T-Rex, play in giant tree houses, pop in and out of rabbit holes, and more.

Children’s classes and programs take place regularly year-round at the Norman and Gerry Sue Arnold Learning Center and Amphitheater. Check the Family Programs page for availability.

  • Entry to Waterfall Junction is included with general park admission.
  • Children ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and kids under 4 must be fully potty trained or wear proper swim diapers to use any water features. Water shoes are recommended for all ages.
